Why You Should Upload Video Content to Your Courses
Video content is a great way to enhance your courses and engage your learners with interactive and visual elements. Video content can help you achieve the following benefits for your courses:
Improve learning outcomes: Video content can help your learners understand complex concepts, retain information, and apply skills better than text or audio content.
Increase learner satisfaction: Video content can help your learners enjoy your courses more, as they can watch, listen, and learn at their own pace and convenience.
Boost course completion: Video content can help your learners stay motivated and interested in your courses, as they can see your personality, passion, and expertise.
Expand your reach: Video content can help you attract more learners to your courses, as they can see the quality and value of your content before enrolling.
How to Upload Video Content to Your Courses
To upload video content to your courses, you need to follow these steps:
Let’s look at each step in more detail.
Step 1: Log in to Eduqat Product Dashboard
The first step is to log in to Eduqat Product Dashboard. This is where you can manage all your courses and lessons. To log in, you need to enter your email and password. If you don’t have an account yet, you can sign up for free.
Step 2: Select your course type and click Edit Courses
The next step is to select your course type and click Edit Courses on the course you want to add a video. You can choose between three course types:
Event: This is a live course that has a fixed date and time. You can interact with your learners in real time via chat or video call.
Self-Paced: This is an on-demand course that has no fixed date or time. Your learners can access your course anytime and anywhere.
Cohort: This is a hybrid course that combines live and on-demand elements. You can set a start and end date for your course and schedule live sessions with your learners.
Step 3: Click Add Lesson Material
The third step is to click Add Lesson Material on the session you want to add a video. A session is a part of your course that covers a specific topic or objective. You can add multiple sessions to your course and arrange them in any order you want.
Step 4: Add details to your video lesson
The fourth step is to add details to your video lesson. A video lesson is a type of lesson material that contains a video file. You can add multiple lesson materials to each session and mix different types of media. To add details to your video lesson, you need to fill in the following fields:
Lesson Title: This is the name of your video lesson. It should be catchy, clear, and concise. It should summarize the main idea of your video lesson and include the main keywords that your learners might search for.
Description: This is the summary of your video lesson. It should be informative, engaging, and persuasive. It should explain what your video lesson is about, what value it provides, and what action you want your learners to take after watching it.
Add Attachment: This is where you can upload or select a video file for your video lesson.
Choosing video thumbnails: This is where you can choose the video thumbnail. After you upload the video, you can choose a thumbnail from the auto-generated thumbnails or upload a customized one from the Media Selector or Lesson Materials Library.
Step 5: Upload a video
The fifth step is to upload a video for your video lesson. You have two options to upload a video:
Use file uploader: This is where you can upload a video file from your computer or device. You can upload any video format that is supported by Eduqat, such as MP4, MOV, AVI, etc. The maximum file size is 500 MB.
Choose from Lesson Materials library: This is where you can select a video file from the Lesson Materials library. The Lesson Materials library is where you can store all your media files for future use.
Step 6: Edit the video settings
The sixth step is to edit the video settings for your video lesson. The video settings are where you can customize how your video will be displayed and played for your learners. You can edit the following video settings:
Allow video to be downloaded: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your learners to download your video file. If you enable this option, your learners will see a download button below your video player. If you disable this option, your learners will only be able to stream your video online.
Disable fast forward: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your learners to fast forward your video. If you enable this option, your learners will not be able to skip ahead or jump to a specific part of your video. They will have to watch your video from start to finish. If you disable this option, your learners will be able to use the seek bar or the arrow keys to fast forward your video.
Autoplay this video: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your video to start playing automatically when your learners open your video lesson. If you enable this option, your video will start playing as soon as your learners see it on their screen. If you disable this option, your learners will have to click on the play button to start watching your video.
Add pop-up quiz: This is where you can add a pop-up quiz to your video lesson. A pop-up quiz is a type of assessment that appears on top of your video at a specific time. You can use a pop-up quiz to test your learners’ knowledge, comprehension, or application of the content in your video. To add a pop-up quiz, you need to do the following:
Choose a quiz from the quizzes you created before from the Quiz and Survey section. The Quiz and Survey section is where you can create and manage different types of assessments for your courses, such as quizzes, surveys, exams, etc.
Set the time when the quiz will appear in your video. You can enter the time in minutes and seconds, such as 05:00 or 10:30.
You can add more quizzes by clicking Add More Quiz button.
Prevent learners from setting video playback speed: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your learners to change the speed of your video playback. If you enable this option, your learners will not be able to adjust the speed of your video using the speed control button on the video player. They will have to watch your video at the normal speed. If you disable this option, your learners will be able to choose between different speed options, such as 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, or 2x.
Step 7: Edit the lesson material settings
The seventh step is to edit the lesson material settings for your video lesson. The lesson material settings are where you can customize how your lesson material will be accessed and completed by your learners. You can edit the following lesson material settings:
Allow learners to see preview: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your learners to see a preview of your lesson material before enrolling in your course. If you enable this option, your learners will see a preview button next to your lesson material title on the course page. They will be able to view a limited portion of your lesson material without paying or signing up for your course. If you disable this option, your learners will not be able to see any part of your lesson material until they enroll in your course.
Set this as a required lesson: This is where you can enable or disable the option for your lesson material to be marked as required for completing your course. If you enable this option, your learners will have to watch and finish your video lesson before they can move on to the next session or complete the course. They will see a progress bar and a check mark on their dashboard indicating their completion status. If you disable this option, your learners will be able to skip or skip ahead of your video lesson without affecting their course progress.
Step 8: Save your video lesson
The final step is to save your video lesson and add it to your course session. To save your video lesson, you need to click Save & Exit Button at the bottom of the page. You will see a confirmation message that says “Your changes have been saved”. You can also do the following actions:
Click Draft checkbox if you want to save as draft: This is where you can save your video lesson as a draft without publishing it on your course page. You can use this option if you want to review or edit your video lesson later before making it live for your learners.
Click Discard Changes button if you want to delete all changes: This is where you can delete all changes that you made on this page without saving them. You can use this option if you want to cancel or undo everything that you did on this page.
